Is there ice in urinals outside of Chicago restaurants?

I lived in Chicago for 10 years, where at better restaurants they often put ice in the urinals. It keeps the smell down (really!) and you don’t need to flush, as the melt continuously rinses the basin.

I’ve also done my share of travelling and haven’t seen it anywhere else. Has anyone?

Yes, there are, in fancy places, like Bawstawn. (Boston). But only in those fancy 5-star restaurants.

When I was on my tour of Europe, they also had some in Italy and Britain.

I’ve never seen or heard of this. Interesting.

I have encountered the ice trick in Restaurants in Philadelphia, St Louis, Birmingham, and a few other cities.
